Western Balkans Program – Call For Applications | Opportunity For Citizens of Western Balkans Countries

| ABOUT THE WESTERN BALKANS PROGRAM |

The Road to WSF Western Balkans Program (WB Program) is part of “The Road to Warsaw Security Forum 2021” and consists of a series of online events which aim to promote EU expansion to the Western Balkans, as well as to share Poland’s transformation and European integration experience with regional civil society opinion leaders and the broader European foreign policy community.

The program encompasses four core elements:

a) an online course for a selected group of 20 Western Balkan opinion leaders
b) an online panel discussion at the Belgrade Security Forum
c) an online panel discussion at the Road to Warsaw Security Forum event
d) a series of concluding publications.

The first component is an online course addressed to 20 select Western Balkans civil society opinion-makers that focuses on the region’s most pressing stability and security issues on its way to EU membership. The course will consist of two thematic webinars and two e-workshops that will give participants practical knowledge and insight into Poland’s road to the EU and EU-Western Balkan security cooperation. It will also serve as a platform for sharing experience and know-how between speakers, experts and program participants.

The second component of the program will be an online panel discussion held within the framework of the online edition of the Belgrade Security Forum in October 2020.

The third component of the program will enable participants to engage in an online panel discussion organized as part of the Road to Warsaw Security Forum event in November 2020 entitled “Strategic Rivalry? The European Union, Russia and China in the Western Balkans”.

The WB Program concludes in December 2020 with a series of short publications on the Western Balkans’ EU integration process, prepared by the 20 civil society participants of the online course. The publications will be published in English on the program’s website (e-publication), which will also host all other materials compiled throughout the project.

The program is organized by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation and co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland as part of the “Public diplomacy 2020 – new dimension” grant scheme.
