Master academic studies of political science – democracy and democratisation

This master programme offers a comprehensive review of key problems of contemporary democracy and democratization. The curriculum covers a series of topics and issues related to ongoing democratization processes, revolutionary and quasi-revolutionary changes, together with non-democratic trends and their history. These issues will be explored equally from the aspect of empirical, historical and normative political science, depending on students’ individual and research preferences. The studies are focused at upgrading of research, academic and professional knowledge and skills, enabling students for easier continuing of graduate studies at national and international universities or developing business career in public authorities, political parties, media, think-tanks, non-governmental organizations, regulatory agencies and private sector.

The programme lasts for two semesters. Students will obtain the title Master of Arts in Political Science.

Prerequisites for enrolment: candidates with completed 240 ECTS at accredited academic studies. Ranking will be done based on the average grade, length of studies and an interview with the commission. The interviewers will assess programme-related academic and professional experiences of the candidate, research intentions and knowledge of foreign languages.
