Aim and outcome of the course

Contemporary political economy studies the economic form of organization of contemporary society, with an aim to determine its motivating factors and tendencies of growth. By using modern economic theories, it analyzes the facts of economic life and offers value judgments pertaining to activities and relations of economic factors, tackling also the borderline fields of political sciences. Contemporary political economy is presented is micro-economic aspect through categories referring to production units, consumers’ behavior, market and market structures and market balance, and in macro-economic aspect in categories of reproduction of economy, cycles, development, money and loans, employment, influence of state, international process of reproduction and contemporary financial market.

Student shall master categorical apparatus of microeconomic and macroeconomic analysis, as well as basic assumptions for formulation and applications of measures of economic policy.
