Call for Proposals
BEYOND THE IVORY TOWER:
BRIDGING BETWEEN SCIENCE AND SOCIETY
The academy is often criticized for being detached from the outside community. We are looking for interdisciplinary researchers that aim to bridge the gap between academic research and its application to the community, in hope of promoting greater cooperation between scientists, decision makers and the general public – from the lecture halls and labs to real social change.
We welcome submissions on interdisciplinary research from all fields including but not limited to: Political Sciences, Psychology, Neuroscience, Economics, Geography and Environmental Studies, Computer Sciences, Communications, Sociology, Anthropology, Law, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Social Work, Statistics, Peace Studies.
Participants will present their work in one of ten workshops in a roundtable format. For workshop details and submission visit the conference website: https://www.hevra.haifa.ac.il/hssc
Cash prizes will be awarded to one promising participant in each of the ten workshops.
Submission Deadline: March 1st, 2021
Accepted participants will be notified May 2021.
The HSSC committee anticipates an in-person conference with on-site events. Due to Covid-19 related uncertainties, we will inform participants in the event that the conference will be moved online. Thank you for your understanding.
