
MODELLING GLOBAL FUTURES – short academic course
The Faculty of Political Science is pleased to host Dr Keith Gehring, Professor at the University of Denver (Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs) and Fulbright scholar, during the summer semester. Professor Gehring will organise the course Modelling Global Futures which introduces students to the histories and future possibilities of nearly every country through the analysis of historical data and the development of long-term forecasts using a range of relevant variables. The course utilises the CIA World Factbook, the World Bank World Development Indicators and the International Futures (IFs) system.
WHO: The course is intended for final-year undergraduate students, master’s students and first and second-year doctoral students in social sciences at the University of Belgrade.
Participants who complete all the obligations stipulated in the syllabus will receive a certificate from the FPS on completion of the course.
ADMISSION: It is free of charge, but places are limited. To apply, candidates must submit an updated CV in English and an email expressing interest in participating.
WHEN: The course begins on 28 March at 11 am in room 2 at the Faculty of Political Science (Jove Ilića 165). It is held every other week for three hours. Candidates should read the syllabus before applying and check the technical prerequisites for participation.
WORKING LANGUAGE: The language of the course is English (minimum B2 level).
