Behavioral Economics Toolbox for Policy Design Masterclass

with Margarita Gomez

Executive Director of the People in Government Lab at the Blavatnik School of Government

University of Oxford

What is behavioral economics and what does it tell us about human decision-making? How can behavioral insights help us design impactful and cost-effective public policies? What behavioral economics tools and methods do policymakers have at their disposal for tackling common public challenges? What can we learn from the experiences of other countries in leveraging experimental approaches for public sector problem-solving? What is the skill set required to craft evidence-based solutions and achieve positive social outcomes?

The Behavioral Economics Toolbox for Policy Design Masterclass will help you answer these questions by introducing you to:

  • Current trends, approaches and tools in behavioral economics for policy design
  • Value and purpose of applying experimental methods to the design of public policies and services
  • Applications of behavioral and experimental methods to solving public challenges from across the world
  • Theory and practice of leveraging behavioral economics for implementing socially beneficial interventions
  • What’s next for behavioral insights for policymaking in Serbia, Western Balkans and globally

The Masterclass will be delivered through a combination of short lectures, practical team and individual exercises, and discussions.
